Things to consider when buying a conservatory
First you’ll want to consider what the conservatory is going to be used for. This will dictate what materials you’ll use including what roof style you’ll choose. Once you know what the use for the conservatory is, you’ll want to think about what furniture you’ll place inside. If you’re not wanting vibrant fabrics to fade in the sun then you’ll need special roof panels to manage the sunlight.
Adding a conservatory could increase the value of your home but it would be worth getting someone in to value your home beforehand and ask them how it would increase if you added a conservatory. It may be that an orangery or extension would be a better option. Unless your home is listed or in a preservation area you shouldn’t need planning permission up to a certain size. It’s a good idea to check first or there may be extra costs involved.
